Host Guide

Welcome to Big White Spot

Big White Spot is an interactive **Live Event Social Wall & Matchmaking Platform**. By creating a **Room**, organizers establish a branded digital lounge for their venue events (dating nights, networking meetups, and social gatherings)—allowing attendees to connect, match, and message each other in real time.

1 Setting Up Your Event Room

Your Room corresponds to one venue location and event type (e.g., "BWS Dating Event at The Pig" or "Developer Meetup at The Albion").

  • Identity: Set a unique URL (Slug), Event Room Title, and Organizer Name.
  • Branding: Upload a square Logo and wide Header Banner to customize your event page.
  • Event Description: Detail what attendees can expect, dress code, age ranges, or house rules.
  • Social Links: Link your WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook pages for post-event community building.

2 Location & In-Person Geofencing

Big White Spot ensures attendees are physically present at the venue before they can join the Social Wall.

  • Venue Coordinates: Enter your venue address and click "Fetch Coordinates" to map your room location.
  • Geofencing Radius: Set a radius (e.g., 500m). Attendees must share their GPS location to access the wall, preventing off-site spam.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Background GPS monitoring automatically removes attendees from the wall if they leave the venue area.

3 Social Badges & Attendee Profiles

Upon scanning the venue QR code, attendees create their personal Social Badge:

  • Avatar & Photos: Attendees can upload a personal photo or select from colorful preset avatar graphics.
  • ID HELP (Visual Identifier): An optional description (e.g. "Red jacket & glasses near main bar") to help people spot each other in person.
  • Gender & Preferences: Attendees select their gender (Male, Female, Unspecified) and dating preference (Women, Men, Everyone).
  • Persistent Recall: Profile data is securely remembered in browser cookies for 1 year so returning attendees are instantly recognized at future events.

4 Live Social Wall & Direct Messaging (DMs)

The live wall displays active venue attendees in a clean, interactive list:

  • Color-Coded Cards: Blue borders for Male, Pink for Female, and Purple for Unspecified profiles.
  • Match Filters & Keyword Search: Filter by All Active, Women, Men, My Matches, or search bios by keyword.
  • Tap-to-Expand: Tap any profile row to view a large high-resolution avatar preview, visual ID HELP cues, full bio, and messaging button.
  • Direct Messaging (DMs): Send private messages directly to other attendees. Incoming messages trigger notification sound, vibration, and a glowing 💬 New DM! badge on the sender's card.

5 Event Scheduling & QR Code Promotion

  • Event Calendar: Schedule single or recurring event dates for your room series.
  • QR Code Generator: Download and print high-resolution QR codes to display on venue tables, posters, or bar counters.
  • Access Codes: Optional 4-digit PINs to restrict wall access to in-room attendees only.

6 Youth Protection & Protection of Minors

Big White Spot strictly enforces youth protection standards in full compliance with the UK Online Safety Act, the German Youth Protection Act (JuSchG) & Interstate Treaty on Youth Protection in Media (JMStV), the Austrian Federal Youth Protection Regulations (WJSG), and the Swiss Protection of Minors in Media (FSM).

  • Mandatory 18+ Account Verification: Only adults (18 years or older) are authorized to create an organizer account and register event rooms.
  • Strict Ban on Venues for Minors: Event rooms must NEVER be set up in schools, youth centers, kindergartens, or locations where minors primarily congregate.
  • Organizer Responsibility: Room organizers bear legal responsibility for ensuring their venue events, age restrictions, and live social interactions conform strictly to adult hospitality standards and local youth protection laws.
  • Content & Dating Safeguards: Dating event walls and private messaging are strictly reserved for adult venues (e.g. licensed bars, pubs, clubs, adult networking events). Any violation results in immediate room suspension and legal reporting where required.
